Dash and Dot

Group rotations on a Wednesday always takes it out of me! Today, in our usual four groups, we rotated through four different activities: we continued our work on our study of the novel, Wringer; carried out research on pigeons (part of Wringer); practiced code on Code.org; and started something new with Dash and Dot. Dash and Dot are cute little programmable robots that help kids to learn about coding. Today we just started with the basics, learning about sequences, loops and complex parameters so we could get Dash up and running, turning, flashing its lights and “talking”. The students had a lot of fun and will continue with Dash and Dot next week – energy levels permitting.
